Appropriate play with an adult dog who loves puppies is one of the best things you can do for a puppy. Not always easy to find, but well worth it if you can!
Zooka, our Vizsla, is fourteen weeks old and is playing with his new friend Loki, and adult Golden Retriever. Zooka is having a great time and thinks he can hold his own with this much larger dog!
Loki is being very gentle and appropriate, as he should be with such a young pup. Notice how Loki is very soft in his play and spends much of the time on his back making himself smaller and less threatening to Zooka.
If you know a dog who loves puppies and is very gentle and appropriate in their play, it is worth it's weight in gold to do some play sessions with a dog like this.
We were very fortunate to have several friends with great dogs to introduce Zooka to as a puppy so he could learn how to play appropriately with dogs of any size or age. Our hope with all of this is that Zooka as an adult will also be one of those dogs!
