I was chatting with a client one day and she was telling me about this amazing new collar!

The dog was walking much better this week and much better behaved around home even. All because she got this new collar. The transformation was amazing. Who knew a new collar could magically create a mellower, better-behaved dog!

I could not wait to find out what kind of collar this was that had such an effect.

This was an adolescent rambunctious dog. Typical teenager, he had lots of energy. No aggressive or problematic behaviors other than the typical adolescent who does not yet have great manners. And who typically was not getting as much exercise in constructive outlets as he really needed.

I asked about the rest of her week to see what else was going on. What besides the new collar had changed that week?

Their vehicle was in for repairs that week. So the kids had to walk to school all week. Mom walked with them and took the dog along. Same with picking the kids up from school.

For a dog who was getting sporadic walks, he was now getting twice daily walks. And he was getting into a good routine.

When I saw the new “magic” collar, I realized it was a regular buckle collar. Nothing special about it.

Perhaps, the dog was better behaved and walking better because he was getting regular walks and lots more exercise than he'd been getting previously?

Nah, must have been the collar!
